THIS IS THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
WITH JASON ROMANO, FEATURING DEVIN McCOURTY
Devin McCourty is a former NFL defensive back who played his entire 13-year career with the New England Patriots, starting every game he played. He was originally selected by New England in the first round (No. 27 overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft after a stellar career at Rutgers University.
McCourty was part of three Super Bowl-winning teams with the Patriots (2014, 2016, 2018) and was named second-team All-Pro three times (2010, 2013, 2016). On Dec. 1, 2022, he became the fourth defensive back in NFL history to have 200 starts with a single team. In March 2023, he announced his retirement from football.
Today on the podcast, Devin McCourty shares what went into his retirement decision, seeking God’s guidance in making the decision to walk away, and his NFL draft experience all the way back in 2010.
“[Jesus] lived a perfect life, a life with out sin, but still, He decided to go on that cross and die for individuals that lived with sin their entire lives. He gave that up for us.” – @Patriots DB Jason McCourty @McCourtyTwinshttps://t.co/OZ0n7NjwSV
