THIS IS EPISODE 144 OF THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
Ben Malcolmson’s official title is “Director of External Relations” for the Seattle Seahawks, but if you see him around the team complex, his real title is “Assistant to the Head Coach.” Malcolmson is the right-hand man to Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, whom he met during his time as a student at the University of Southern California in the mid-2000s.
Malcolmson’s first book was just released, “Walk On: From Pee Wee Dropout to the NFL Sidelines – My Unlikely Story of Football, Purpose and Following an Amazing God.” and is available everywhere books are sold.
On this episode of the podcast, you’ll hear the crazy story of how Malcolmson went from hating football to covering football to then playing football at USC. A real-life, modern version of the movie “Rudy,” Malcolmson’s journey included opportunities for him to live out his faith in the locker room, as well as seeing how God can take terrible situations and turn them around for His glory.
"God loves you unconditionally, as you are and not as you should be, because nobody is as they should be." -Brennan Manning
