THIS IS THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
WITH JASON ROMANO, FEATURING BROCK PURDY
Brock Purdy is a quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, who drafted him with the last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, making him “Mr. Irrelevant.” But he became very relevant for the Niners, who lost their first- and second-string quarterbacks to injury in 2022, allowing Purdy to start the team’s final eight games of the year, which included three playoff contests. Purdy played very well and San Francisco won each of those games, except for the NFC championship game, in which Purdy’s elbow was injured in the first quarter.
Today on the show, Brock Purdy joined us from his parents’ home in Phoenix to talk about his amazing 2022 rookie season, finding joy after suffering the elbow injury, and lessons learned from God after seeing his platform increase.
Big thanks to @brockpurdy13 for coming and speaking to our students tonight 👏👏 Great testimony of patience and trusting God. Amazing role model for our Bombers!! pic.twitter.com/HzjqFVi8R1
